Accidents at home do happen – even more so now as we are all spending a large amount of time in our properties due to Coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
So whether you’re working from home or re-creating your favourite restaurant meal in your own kitchen, read on to hear some of our top tips for avoiding accidental damages at home.
✓ Secure the rugs in your house by adding non-slip pads underneath them to avoid any slips and falls whilst travelling from room to room! Never put rugs at the base or top of the stairs.
✓ Make sure you have a handrail for your stairs and it covers the entire length of the staircase.
✓ Always keep drinks away from electrical items you are using such as laptops or tablets to avoid spillages. If you can, switch to bottles with lids for extra safety!
✓ We’re all relying heavily on technology at the moment, and that equals wires everywhere! Unruly wires can be dangerous, as they’re very easy to trip on. To avoid this, ensure wires are safely tucked away or unplugged if you’re not using them.
✓ With cafes and restaurants still closed for now, more of us are experimenting with cooking at home! Always take care around potential risks in your kitchen, including sharp objects, hot pans and boiling water.
Always have your insurer’s details to hand just in case, so you can check your policy.
