With most of the UK blanketed in snow recently, we thought we’d share some top tips on how to ensure your home is fully prepared for any future wintry spells. Love it or hate it, the UK always seems to be unprepared for the white stuff. So, keep an eye out on the weather forecasts and take note of our advice below!
Grit Areas Around Your House
Prepare the external high traffic areas around your house such as steps and pathways with some salt or sand. This will act as a grit and will prevent them from getting severely icy and causing any accidents.
Check Your Roof, Gutters and Drains
This is something we often put off time and time again, but it’s so important to check up on areas such as your roof, gutters and drains – especially so when bad weather like snow is on the horizon!
Insulate Water Taps
As the temperatures begin to plummet, it holds the risk of both the internal and external water taps freezing up. Prepare in advance by covering them in some insulation. This will keep them warm and allow water to continue flowing well through them.
Clear The Garden
If you know that heavy snow is on the way, it makes sense to clear your garden up before it falls and settles.
